The Full Story

I found the art of crochet after i hit one of my all time lows. I didn't know anything about it, i just started with a YouTube video on how to make a granny square and a dream to make a beautiful geeky blaket for my grandmother who means the world to me. One thing lead to another and i was hooked (lol) I finally found a craft that let me express myself, let me play and enjoy the little things.

Ive struggled with my mental health most of my life, recently being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder I've had to learn so much about myself and my triggers, when i'm going through such vicious mood swings almost nothing helps me, but crochet helps me ground myself, and to focus on what im creating as opposed to my intense emotions.

Crochet taught me to appreciate the journey of creating something one small stitch at a time, it doesn't seem like much in the moment, but it adds up to be something incredible. It very much mirrors the way I've worked on living with my mental illness, small steps add up and every year that passes i grow stronger. it all had to start from one little choice to move forward even in the darkness.
